Participating is easy: Eat at (or order to-go from) My Parents' Basement or any participating restaurant on Wednesday, November 29, from 5pm - 9pm, and a portion of the proceeds will go directly to support DF2S activities, like student/teacher scholarships, kitchen trainings, taste tests, and more.

Also we will have a costume contest, sign up starts at 7pm and we will announce the winners at 8pm so put those cosplay skills to good use and come as your favorite Star Wars character and a chance to win fame and glory.
Come hang out with us and New Belgium for our 1st annual demolition derby smash bash, a fun filled day full of chaos and destruction. A full on RC car demolition derby in our back lot, where the rule is simple, dont lose. All you need is a wireless RC car, and modify it any which way you want, the sky is the limit, if you want a flame thrower, add a flame thrower. New Belgium will be there with lots of beer for the occasion and 24oz cans of Day Blazer, yes, 24oz cans. The Grand prize for the winner will be 2 VIP Tickets for a tour of the new New Belgium brewery in Asheville. There will be food options, lots of other games like corn hole and ladder golf and a comic book sale as well so mark your calender.

Hey everyone, super excited to host Betty & Veronica writer & artist Adam Hughes as well as Betty & Veronica variant cover artist Andy Price (you may remember him as the artist from the best selling comic book My Little Pony) on July 29th from 6-8 pm for a store signing. The first hour Adam will be signing copies of Betty and Veronica and during the 2nd hour, you can grab a blank sketch cover for Adam or Andy to do a quick persoanlized sketch. The sketches will be $40.
Avondale May Ham Fest is a one day feast for the senses. 12 bands, fabulous artists and vendors, pre-1971 car show, two 35mm movies...and did we mention HAM!

MAY HAM'S BLUE RIBBON HAM COMPETITION
May 7th from 11 to 1 at Pine Street Market. Each contestant brings their favorite ham themed dish to be judged by our panel of local celebrity chefs and ham experts. The only rule: must contain ham. Disposable dishes are preferred and bring as much or as little as you like. Ham it up! Set up is at 11, Judging at 11:30, and public tasting starts at noon. Stick around afterwards for the wild fun of Avondale May Ham Fest!
Sign up is only $10 and includes a limited edition "May Ham Blue Ribbon" t-shirt. Costumes are encouraged. Grand Prize is a Giant box of Pine Street Market Meats with extra goodies from My Parents' Basement!
